Legal Accounting
In nearly forty years of experience working in the field of accounting, Mike O'Reilly has spent most of that time working in the highly specialised field of legal accounting. He can assist all types of legal practices with innovative thinking, planning and advice. His work as a consultant in this specialised field is highly acclaimed.
Through his work in legal practices, Mike has developed a detailed understanding of the practical problems encountered by solicitors regarding all compliance issues. In particular, he can help with the Solicitors’ Accounts Regulations, Revenue obligations, Anti-Money laundering obligations, dealing with Statutory bodies and Risk Management procedures and practices. Since 2002, Mike has lectured trainee solicitors and solictors on financial accounting/management and on Solicitors’ Accounts Regulations on the Law Society’s professional practice course and at various Skillnet and other CPD events.
He is ready to assist firms with these and all other regulatory, accounting, management and business process needs.
Mike joined the Institute of Legal Accountants of Ireland in 1988 and was chairman in 2006 and 2007. Since then he has held various committee roles and continues to be their technical officer and a committed and influential member of the Institute.
